Band and Demo Reviews: Unsigned Music Reviews
Elizabeth
ElizabethKatie Melua. Norah Jones. Kate Nash. Elizabeth? Judging by the quality of the tracks on her beautiful EP, why not? But she may have to go with a second name in future. 'The Naked Dancer' is an opener that could be loosely defined as Kate Nash-esque, but Elizabeth's larger-than-life voice stands out in its own right, and with 'Shopping For Watches' and 'Laura's Diary' following on the trend of great vocals and pleasant guitar work, the Ep comes along nicely. I particularly like the live feel, with the tracks announced before being belted out. 'Not The Mockley Way' is the track with which she really hits her stride though, and 'Confusion Calls' follows on in equally brilliant fashion. However, shed saves the best to last, with the funny, quirky and charming 'My Name's Not Tina. Seriously now, her name's not Tina. Listen to this EP and you won't forget her in a hurry. myspace.com/elizabethkw Further Information
