Band and Demo Reviews: Unsigned Music Reviews

This band instantly come across like they've done their time and worked their way up from the bottom learning expertise along the way. The guitar in "Articles" is mind-blowing and extremely hard to ignore. As soon as you think you know where the song is headed it changes pace completely. Very catchy although the lyrics are hard to make out in the recording. And again there's another change of pace. You have absolutely no time to get complacent with these guys. Keeping you on your toes all the way through with slightly more forceful rocky vocals towards the end mixed in with impressive guitars solos. However much the pace is picked up in the middle it still manages to slow down enough to ease you into a restful ending. You Cant help but feel manipulated by their sound.

"Scarlet" is reminiscent of an early Ash sound towards the beginning. With a strong drum backbone and intricate string detail from the lead guitar. This has to be my favourite so far with much clearer vocals throughout with a much more narrative feel to it. With catchy and eerie keyboard sounds sneaking up from the back.

The "Corporate Whores Demo" has a much darker and creepier feel to it than all of the other songs on the media player. It sounds very much like samples but it has a very bitter political edge about it and to be honest I love it. Very gritty and angry after a dark and mysterious beginning! Still talented instrument players even though it could have easily been overshadowed by the power of the vocals. What struck me the most about this varied array of songs is the versatility this band has and how everything seems to work. I don't see why anyone should commit to one way of working especially if they all work well as separate pieces.

For Fans of: The Killers, Ash for the first few but Corporate Whores demo for Prog Rock fans!
