Band and Demo Reviews: Unsigned Music Reviews
Jukebox Vandals
Jukebox VandalsPreviously known as The Frays (not to be confused with The Fray of course), the Jukebox Vandals are a well-known indie band formed in the Hertfordshire area playing venues in and out of London. With their dirty beats and guitar driven sound, Jukebox Vandals remind me very much of being Oasis with a dollop of The Libertines mixed in for good measure. As the drum beat kicks in on their first track 'To mock a mocker' on their much awaited EP Kitcheners Lane you know this band are destined for success. 'Forgetting how to run' appears to be everyone's favourite track from the EP and I cannot deny that it is mine. With the delicate vocal introduction building up to the upbeat, catchy chorus it is a sure winner live with audiences to sing along to. Mark Hollis' has a truly wonderful voice, one that makes me think of The Coral on their fourth track 'Dirty little secret'. You can tell that these lads know what they are doing and are simply one of the best British bands I have heard this year. Their upbeat tunes are like no others and it is refreshing to see a band that really appreciate their own music, mixing their musical influences to create their own unique sound. Welcome to the Vandal revolution. www.myspace.com/jukeboxvandals Further Information
