Khashassi

Before listening to the new album by Leicester born Khashassi, I did not have very high expectations...how hasty I had been! After hearing the first two tracks, I had copied the CD instantly and added it to my favourite music playlist. Songs like "Ego" and "Dangerously Beautiful" boasted the talent and skill of the artist. The album entitled "Mellow Acoustic Rage" has been ideally named, as it is just that. It provides a refreshing taste of music in our slothenly evolving music scene. All the material on the album has been self-written by this phenomenal young woman, whose contribution to her album did not stop there, as she went on to produce 90% of the instrumentation, using instruments including guitars, bass, percussion and keys.

The album can only be described as original, the blend of gentle guitars and velvety vocals are perfect for her relaxing yet up-beat style. Providing a relaxing atmosphere without being depressing is evidence of the magnitude of Khashassi's talent. It proves that as an artist she has her own ideas on how she wants her own sound portrayed, as she authored the material, sang the songs and played the instruments. Everything on this album is hers! "Mellow Acoustic Rage" is a highly intelligent first release, that bleeds originality, talent and emotion in all the right places, and deserves to be played all over the globe.
