The Codes
The CodesWhen The Codes single 'Paint the Town' kicked in, I thought I was going to be listening to yet another 'nu rave' with added-synthesizer-effects band...until the vocals kicked in. I was won over and definitely pleasantly surprised. Will, the lead singer has a very distinctive voice. One of those which reminds me of an American country and western singer. The good kind. The Codes make sure they do well to promote their own distinctive sound with guitar solos that make me wish I could play guitar. On 'In the North', synths and dirty bass lines are the codes keys in making this a fantastic song. 'Las Vegas' (taken from their recent E.P Paint the Town), contains clear and catchy vocals. A musical delight to ones ears. You can tell they are heavily influenced by the old bands as well as the new. With a string of live gigs lined up in the Midlands area, this young band are a definite must-see. You will not be disappointed with their sound these show promise and potential to actually go somewhere. www.myspace.com/thecodesmusic Further Information
