Band and Demo Reviews: Unsigned Music Reviews
The Displacements
The DisplacementsThey were Leicester's best kept secret for a while, then a talented up and coming band, and now The Displacements are not just a band Leicester can be proud of: they are a triumph for English music in general. With a single release imminent, following in a UK tour, Leicester's likely lads are well worth being artists of the month, and this based on 2 tracks. Their next single, 'Lazy Bones', boasts pulsing drums, superb guitars and an all round anthem feel that will have indie DJs across the country in a spin. 'Frontline Hearts' is another storming track that is achingly cool. The vocals are crisp, the guitar play is understated yet inspired, and the feeliong that The Dips are on the cusp of greatness is undeniable. 'Journey To Canning Town' is another fantastic song, and it's great to see a band fulfilling potential at such speed, with such style. Kasabian can move over for now, as Leicester can pin its' musical pride on these 4 lads for the time being. myspace.com/thedisplacements Further Information
